Temporarily Disconnected

Recently I called a place of business to check on an item I had there.  A recording came on and said, “the number you have reached has been temporarily disconnected.  No other information is available.” I’m not sure what has caused this business to temporarily disconnect, but it doesn’t really seem like this is a good idea for a business.  They are dependent upon their customers for business.  Having that line of communication available is pretty important.

Situations come our way that cause us to be like this phone number, temporarily disconnected. We close out the outside world and draw into ourselves.  No one may not even know why we have pushed them away.  Drawing into ourselves gives us a false sense of security.  If we shut everyone out no one can bother us, no one can hurt us deeper.

But we are still bothered, we are still hurt.  We are alone.  Being alone amplifies what we are feeling.  The hurt becomes stronger.  The sadness becomes deeper. The pain becomes more intense. The reason? Because there is no one to help us.

God never intended for us to carry things alone.  It’s in those times, more than ever, we need to grab hold of the hand of someone who is holding the hand of God.  You may can’t utter a prayer, but they can.  They can petition Heaven on your behalf.  What you “thought” you would find by withdrawing into yourself, you will find in the time you spend with them.  A load is easier carried by two instead of one.

Let that one God sends your way in your time of need be there for you. You need those prayers they will pray for you.  You need those talks you will have together.  You need to hear the sound of their laughter.  You need to let them see your heart because when they reached for your hand, they showed you theirs.

Moses’ arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset. Exodus 17:12

Moses couldn’t do it on his own.  There was a lot at stake. He accepted the hands that reached out to him. Those hands held his steady. Joshua led them to victory.

My prayer is that you reach for the hand that is reaching for yours.  That’s how you will come out of your situation victorious.

Welcome

Hi! Welcome to my blog.  As the title of my blog states, I am a pastor’s wife.  My mission is to help as many people as I can.  One of those ways is with my words.  Words are so powerful.  They can be uplifting and encouraging or they can be destructive.  My post will be thoughts that God gives me that I believe will be encouraging.  Topics that teach us to grow in God and to choose the things of God. Thank you for visiting my blog.  I hope you will continue to visit and be a part of this journey.
